Casa Labia's Picnic Poster
We've had a busy couple of weeks... Between various posters, banners, invites and annual reports, we managed to knock up this poster for Casa Labia (one of those late nights).
We wanted to make the poster fun, friendly and approachable, in hope to entice the more down to earth locals (and non locals) to come and enjoy Casa Labia's space.

Our edible garden
We ate our first, out of three, homegrown broccoli's yesterday, and it was superb! It is something so reassuring to eat your own homegrown, especially at that size. It is the largest vegetable we have ever grown, which is very exciting for us, also because it grows so quickly over here (being used to balcony-gardening in the UK). Very happy it survived the slugs :)
Check out our old post to see what the garden used to look like.
Beach sunrise
After seven years abroad, great jobs, and a good network of professionals and friends the time had come - Africa was calling.
When we made the decision to leave the UK and head back to the dark continent to set up our own company my tummy turned for weeks on end. I'm not going to lie to you - as much as we were excited, we were also incredibly nervous. The nerves haven't subsided just yet but every now and then, like this morning, I get a really good feeling inside and it lets me know that everything will be just fine.
Being able to go for an early morning walk, watch the sunrise over Muizenberg beach while holding my business partner, wife and best friend's hand, reassures me that we've done the right thing…
Wipe that little well from under your eye Karl and stop worrying so much - embrace every moment and get back to work (you need to put food on the table).

Handmade hessian pallet couch
The couch is done! Pillows made out of recycled coffee bags, foam covered in hessian, all hand stitched. Resting on two pallets. The idea is now to make another one, positioned in the corner to create an L-shape.
